The terrifying incident that took place in the town of Beni, Congo, was an act vengeance by locals after 100 people died in a series of terrorist attacks.
According to witnesses, the unidentified young man with a machete in his hands who could not speak the local Swahili language raised suspicion on a bus in the north east of the country. Once the man was discovered, angry passengers pulled him out of the bus, stoned him to death, burned his corpse and ate his flesh.
The incident in the town of Beni comes following a number of overnight raids in the area blamed on the Islamist group ADF-NALU. The Ugandan rebels are thought to have massacred more than 100 people this month, using hachets and machetes to kill their victims.
