The grandmother of a 12-year-old black boy shot dead by police while carrying a toy gun in Cleveland, Ohio, today said her grandson was ‘murdered’.
Heart-broken Mildretta Warner spoke after a video of the fatal shooting of Tamir Rice in a playground was released by the Cleveland Police Department.
The schoolboy was shot twice less than two seconds after police officers arrived at the scene following a 911 call that a ‘guy was pointing a gun’ at people in a playground in a poor neighbourhood of Cleveland on Saturday.
Mrs Warner, 56, told MailOnline: ‘The police outright murdered Tamir.’
