The man, Christopher Hisle, was arrested in April and pleaded guilty on Friday to se.x trafficking by force, fraud or coercion; enticing a person to travel in interstate commerce for the purpose of prosti.tution; and interstate transportation for the purpose of prostit.ution.
Details are still forthcoming. Authorities say at least 12 women were victimized by Hisle, but the true total is unknown.
Hisle kept the women locked up in his house by boarding up the windows and doors. The front door, which locked on both sides, was the only exit, and only Hisle had the key. Hisle physically assaulted the women, and when one woman tried to escape, he struck her across the face. Another woman managed to escape the house only to be tracked down and brought back by Hisle.
Hisle created escort advertisements for the women and posted them online on sites like Backpage.com.
Police finally arrested Hisle in April in Louisville when he drove a woman from Cincinnati to a Red Roof Inn in Louisville to engage in pros.titution.
Hisle faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and, as part of a plea agreement, will pay restitution to the 12 women.
