A modern day Romeo and Juliet scenario played itself out when a 20-year-old British girl, Becky Tait, could not take the pains of losing her boyfriend, 19-year-old Phil James, who committed suicide by jumping into the path of a fast moving train, just the same way Phil did few weeks back.
The heartbroken girl decided to kill herself in the same manner the man she called her soul mate did.
To achieve her replica suicide, Becky stepped in front of a locomotive engine, ending her life after struggling to come to terms with the death of her partner.
Phil died two days after being hit by a train along the same stretch of tracks near Stone station in Staffordshire.
Her friends who could not believe she would toe the same path as her man, revealed the couple had only been going out for a number of months but had already been on holiday together to Portugal.
They said Becky had been left inconsolable following the death of her ‘soul mate’ and was struggling to cope with the loss.
In a statement, Becky’s distraught family said:

Becky will be sadly missed by many people. Sadly Becky took her own life. We would like to thank everyone for their kind wishes, support and floral tributes.

Another friend said:

They really got along and went to Portugal this summer, when Phil died she said she had lost her soul mate. She was inconsolable and I don’t think she coped well with the death at all. Despite people trying to show their support she just shied away and went into her own little bubble. She didn’t talk about it, which I don’t think helped.

It’s a tragic loss of two good people. It is so sad they both thought this was the only option out.
