A cult leader who took the pleasure in s*ually assaulting and raping members of his society has been found guilty of manipulation and other crimes after he was exposed by his own daughter.
Aravindan Balakrishnan

The daughter of a suspected Maoist cultist who held many women imprisoned for over 30 years while raping and assaulting them has told a court in Britain of what they passed through in the hands of her sadist father.

75-year-old Aravindan Balakrishnan held his daughter and other women imprisoned at his house and warned them they would be harmed if they ever left. It was revealed that Balakrishnan homeschooled his daughter and did not allow her to have any friends or go out of the house. She was not allowed to look out the window.

The girl revealed that the father brainwashed her and numerous other women into believing that a monster named Jackie would attack and kill them if they ever disobey him. The woman said that in one incident, her father punished her by putting her out of the house, and she was terrified that she will be killed or kidnapped.

Balakrishnan had up to 8 women living with him at times, and they were loyal to him, obeying every word that came out of his mouth. The man was lord and made them believe he had a supernatural power just like God. He regularly raped the women. The rape case came to light when police entered the home and found three women locked inside.

Police freed the women who were between 57 and 69 years old, along with the suspect’s 30-year-old daughter. The daughter who indicted her dad, revealed to the court all the evil that went on for over 30 years in the house. The evidence against Balakrishnan was enough to convict him as he was found guilty of four counts of rape and six counts of indecent assault. He was also convicted of causing bodily harm, cruelty to a child and false imprisonment.

Praising the victims, the chief crown prosecutor for London, Baljit Ubhey, said: "Balakrishnan has robbed these women including his own daughter of a huge part of their lives."

Yvonne Hall and Gerard Stocks, founders of Palm Cove Society which supported the three victims, said: "This is the end of the beginning and now starts the rest of the incredible journey for each of the women." Balakrishnan, who was originally arrested in November 2013, was cleared of one count of actual bodily harm and one count of indecent assault.

He is due to be sentenced on 29 January.
