78-year-old Dennis Gibson shot and killed his wife's 66-year-old lover identified as Vernon Burger after he caught them together at his house, police said. The man also shot his wife in the jealous rage but she survived the gunshot wound.
The man was arrested and charged with murder after he admitted to shooting out of jealousy.
Police said that Burger came to the couple’s home to take the married woman, who was identified as Jaqueline Gibson, 68, to celebrate his birthday. The lovers were supposed to go to a casino in Louisiana, for the weekend

When Dennis saw Burger with his wife, he shot both of them. Burger was airlifted to a hospital after the incident at 8:00a.m. on Friday, but he later died of his wounds.
Burger was shot in the side and in the back of the head during an argument. Jacqueline was shot twice, but her injuries were not considered life threatening.
Fort Bend County Sheriff’s office investigators said that the shooter and the victim sang in the same band. Burger also played guitar while Gibson’s wife, was the band’s photographer.
Police investigation revealed that Jaqueline and Burger began an affair eight months ago, which ended with the shooting.
