A 31-year-old man has allegedly killed, and dismembered his parents before going further to salt and cook their remains and packaging the ‘meat’ inside lunch boxes.
The Hong Kong man, Henry Chau was arrested and faced trial for 20 days after which he was on Friday, March 20, 2015 found guilty of murder.
Through the duration of his trial, the court heard that the severed heads of 65-year-old Chau Wing-ki and his wife Siu Yuet-yee, 62, were found in March 2013, stuffed into two refrigerators in a bloodstained apartment, days after they were reported missing.
Other remains were found in a rubbish bin and packed into lunchboxes with rice.
According to reports, a jury at the city’s high court found Chau guilty on both counts of murder by a majority of 8-to-1.
Chau and his friend Tse Chun-kei were brought before the court, although Kei was found innocent of the two counts of murder.
It was learnt that the defendant previously denied murdering his parents in such gruesome manner claiming that the couple had gone to China’s mainland.
However, he later owned up to the crime on an Internet messaging group.
Chau faces a prison sentence on Monday, March 23, 2015.
