The crushed SUV and the big lorry
A couple were crushed to death on December 5 after a lorry tipped over and landed on their car in Kunming, Yunnan province in China.
The coal lorry was being overtaken by the SUV when it tipped over, the People’s Daily Online reports.

The couple in the car were killed instantly. The lorry is reported to weigh more than 100 tonnes and was carrying around 80 tonnes of coal. A traffic police officer warned after the incident that cars 'should keep a safe distance from trucks'.
The officer said that many car owners drive too fast on turns and around lorries. Yunnan’s roads are known for being particularly dangerous.
In April this year, 7 people were killed and 29 injured after a coach heading to Kunming overturned and crashed into a barrier. In May 2015, the World Health Organization called for tougher road safety laws after it was revealed around 30 children die a day on China’s roads.
According to the country's public ministry, China has an increasing number of car owners in the country. By the end of 2014, there were 154 million cars in China.
