Adele and Ahmed Kaya
Adele has been caught up in a plagiarism row after it was claimed her new song 'Million Years Ago' was a copy of Ahmet Kaya's Acilara Tutunmak.
Mirror Online reports that fans of the Kurdish artist were quick to point out similarities between the album track and Kaya's song, which was released in 1985.
Taking to social media one questioned: "Million Years Ago has too much similarity with Ahmet Kaya's Acilara Tutunmak to be just a coincidence @Adele"
While another appeared convinced Adele had intentionally copied it: "#Adele stole the song of a Turkish singer Ahmet Kaya @Adele #thief"
According to Mirror Onine, the musician Kaya died in Paris 15 years ago, but his wife Gulten Kaya has spoken out about the Adele controversy.
She told Turkish newspaper Posta that she did not believe the similarities were intentional but did add that “if she consciously did it, then it would be theft”.

Even though Adele's album 25 became the fastest selling album in British chart history, it hasn't been without it's controversies.
In October Tom Waits fans claimed Adele's first single 'Hello' closely resembled his song 'Martha' .
