A woman beat up a man on their first date because she did not want to be his girlfriend.
24-year-old Haley Fox severely beat Samuel Campbell on the head with a metal baseball bat on their first date.
Fox met Campbell, 26, on the Internet, and the two began a relationship. Campbell moved from Alabama to Turner, Oregon, to be with her.
Fox created a romantic candlelight dinner for their first date before telling Campbell to close his eyes and then repeatedly beat him with a metal baseball bat in the back of the head.
Campbell suffered a fractured skull and required 9 staples in his head after the attack. He told detectives that he thought he would die, according to court documents.
Fox told the police that she hit Campbell because she did not want to be his girlfriend so they decided to hurt him.
Fox pleaded guilty to charges of third-degree assault and unlawful use of a weapon. She was sentenced to five years and 10 months in prison. She has no criminal record, according to court documents.
