Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is the focus of an article in the New York Post this weekend as it’s reported that the Russian is buying up property in the Big Apple.
As Chelsea moved five points clear on top of the Premier League, the club’s owner is focusing on making his mark on New York.
According in the Post:
Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich loves the Big Apple so much that he’s buying up most of a city block to build one of New York’s largest mansions.
The oligarch, who Forbes estimates is worth $9.3 billion, plans on building a dream mansion to live in with his glamorous girlfriend, Dasha Zhukova, the mother of two of his seven children.
[Abramovich] secretly purchased 11 E. 75th St. — a narrow, 21-foot-wide, 9,495-square-foot town house — for $29.7 million from developer Larry Gluck in October.
In December, Abramovich secretly bought another town house, two doors down, at 15 E. 75th St. That was an even tinier, 17-foot-wide house, for $18.3 million. That home is 7,286 square feet.
