A jealous husband has meted out a capital punishment on his alleged cheating wife by stuffing pepper inside the woman’s vagina in a fit of rage.
The man was thereafter arrested and charged before a magistrate court on a two counts of domestic violence which he made a plea of innocence to.
32-year-old father of two, Mkhululi Mhlanga, from Mlagisa Village, Tsholotsho in Zimbabwe received a four year jail term by a resident magistrate, Abednico Ndebele who suspended six months conditionally for three years, reports Myzimbabwe.co.zw.
The stunned magistrate confessed that the case was among the ‘most barbaric domestic violence’ he has ever handled, adding that the verdict would serve as a deterrent to other people who intend to indulge in such dastardly act.
Ndebele said, “The courts are worried by the escalation of domestic violence cases in Tsholotsho and we feel it’s high time we send a message to the accused person and his ilk that harming and ill treating one’s wife will not be tolerated by the courts.”
During the hearing of the case in court on Friday, March 6, 2015 prosecutor Sikhumbuzo Sibanda disclosed that the defendant had a scuffle with his wife on her alleged infidelity sometime in November 2014.
He said, “After exchanging harsh words and calling each other names, the man lost his temper and picked up a log which he used to assault her all over the body.”
He reportedly battered his wife mercilessly on the fateful day leaving her with severe injuries which left her confined her to a bed for about two weeks.
Instead of feeling remorseful for his deed, Mhlanga proceeded to the hospital where his wife was on admission and subsequently stuffed a considerable amount of pepper inside the woman’s vagina.
The man took advantage of her condition as she could not run away and took pepper and stuffed it in her private parts.
While pleading for leniency, Ncube urged the court to tamper justice with mercy being that he had no money and managed to feed by doing some menialf jobs and begged the court to be lenient with him.
Doctors who ran a test on the victim revealed that her vagina was actually filled with pepper.
