Every year, women spend millions of dollars on treatments, products and procedures to make their lips fuller for the purpose of… um, I actually don’t know.
Maybe they want to look like Will Smith’s character in “Shark Tale.”Who wouldn’t want lips like that?
Regardless of the motivation behind the alteration, big lips can also come with a big price tag — professional injections can cost almost $1,000 according to a website I assume knows more about the topic than I do.
As a result, some people decide to take a more unconventional route, such as one girl who got slightly bigger lips than she bargained for when she tried a DIY technique involving a device made specifically for that purpose.
Sadly, these two sisters in Iceland either never heard about her story or decided to ignore its moral when they used a wide-mouthed water bottle to augment their lips after seeing the technique on Facebook.
According to Daily Mail, 18-year-old Yrja Ás Baldvinsdottir and her sister Birgitta both posted pictures of the end result, and based on those and the testimony, I doubt they’ll be trying it again in the future:
In a post accompanying the picture, Yrja said:
I just wanted to try it and see what they would look like, I’ve never done it before, and I won’t be doing it again. It was very, very painful. My lips turned blue.
So in conclusion: Don’t do this. It’s stupid.
