Just Horrific… Saudi Officials Bulldoze Dead Hajj Pilgrims and Pile Them Like Garbage

This is simply horrific. Last week I wrote about Hajj pilgrims going to Mecca for their holy days when two groups collided and they were killed in the ensuing stampede. 769 died. That was bad enough, but after the horrific melee, Saudi officials evidently decided the fastest and most efficient way to get rid of the dead was to bulldoze the bodies and pile them up like garbage. Words fail me. How can you do that to humans? Especially their fellow Muslims? That shows a disregard for the faithful that is stunning and disgusting. This will now be a PR nightmare for the Saudis and will create a great deal of justified anger and outrage. The Iranians were already furious because some of the dead were from Iran. Now this. No pun intended, it’s an explosive situation that just got much worse.

On Thursday 769 Muslims were killed in a stampede during the Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Saudi officials blamed pilgrims for not following the rules for the deadly stampede. Others blamed the convoy of the son of the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the tragedy.

About two million Muslims from 180 countries arrived in Saudi Arabia this year for the annual pilgrimage.

The Saudis bulldozed the bodies after the deadly stampede.

Just like garbage–

The families of the deceased must be beside themselves with grief and outrage over this. The conduct of the Saudis here is inhumane and monstrous. The worst tragedy in 25 years at the annual Muslim pilgrimage occurred during the symbolic stoning of the devil at Mina. The stone-throwing at pillars called Jamarat, where Satan is believed to have tempted the Prophet Abraham just outside the holy city of Mecca. Severely poor planning is being blamed for the deaths. Saudi officials of course blamed pilgrims for not following the rules for the deadly stampede. Others blamed the convoy of the son of the Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for the tragedy. Some of the pics are being disputed, but I have no doubt that the bodies are being piled like this whether by bulldozers or slaves, it doesn’t matter. There is no regard for life here. All lives should matter and the dead should be treated with more reverence and dignity than this.
