A 22-year-old Brazilian model, Indianara Carvalho, made headlines for winning the title of Miss Bumbum 2014 this year.
The
competition seeks to find the best butt in all of Brazil, and
Carvalho’s booty reigned supreme over the other 27 contestants.
Cavalho has since decided to have surgery to restore her virginity.
As The Daily Mail states:
The
model, who says she wants to use her newly virginal status to find
love, had ‘vaginal rejuvenation surgery’ which includes a hymenoplasty.
The
procedure, which is not available in the UK, can be done by using
surgical gel to create a new hymen that lasts a few days before
dissolving or more permanently by using a flap of skin cut from the
vaginal wall.
Carvalho says she hoped having the surgery would grant the somewhat controversial Bumbum competition “some respect.”
The model claims that by restoring her virginity she will be able to enjoy her “first time” again with someone special.
Sorry, Miss Bumbum, you can’t just become a virgin again. That isn’t how it works.
The
absurd and misleading elements of this story (as well as the wacky
message it sends to young women who possibly look up to the contest
winner), are decidedly bizarre.
We might even go so far as to say the surgery is likely more controversial than the Miss Bumbum competition itself.
