It is the picture of a 55-year-old pedophile neighbour with his arm draped around a teenage girl he groomed and sexually abused for 2 years while living next door.

William Brown lured Natasha Cooper from the age of 14, after she moved into the three-bedroom house next door to his in Nuneaton, Warwickshire, with her parents Anthony, 47, and Sharon, 45.
After befriending her parents, Brown – a mechanic – used the opportunity of frequent neighbourly barbecues and parties to groom Natasha and trick her into believing she was in love with him.

After lengthy walks together and secret hand-holding, he kissed her before later having sex with her
while she was just 14-years-old.

It continued on three other occasions until just after her 16th birthday in August 2013 – when the chilling photograph was taken – when Natasha’s mother discovered the abuse and called the police.

Brown was arrested in September last year and jailed for three years at Coventry Crown Court last month after admitting four counts of sex with a child under the age of 16.
Natasha, now aged 18, has now waived her right to anonymity to speak out about the ordeal, claiming she ‘fell completely in love’ with Brown.

She said:

‘It just started off with holding hands when I was 13 while we were walking the dogs, but after a little while he would kiss me on the cheek, and the on the lips. I really liked him and when I was 14, we had sex for the first time in a field. I knew it was wrong because he was married, but I didn’t care. He was so funny and mature, I fell completely in love with him.

In the end, I realised what I had to do, and told the police everything. It broke my heart because I felt like I was betraying Will. But I didn’t want our family to be torn apart anymore.’

Brown’s grooming and sexual abuse was discovered after Mrs Cooper saw her daughter and next-door neighbour close in the garden one night.

She confronted the pair, who both denied it, but pushed her daughter on the matter after Brown joked about not being able to keep his hands off the youngster. The teenager eventually admitted the sexual activity to her mother, who informed Brown’s wife Dawn.

She said:

‘Dawn refused to believe me and got angry so I showed her the messages. Natasha had begged me not to tell her dad but I couldn’t hide it from him.’

The family then reported Brown to the police, who fled his family home but was found and arrested at his sister’s house in September last year.

Mrs Cooper, a stay-at-home mother, said she had no idea about the abuse until her daughter admitted it and said she had now spoken out to warn other parents. She said:

‘Will and his wife lived next door and came over and introduced themselves. They seemed like such a lovely couple and we hit it off straight away. Will had a huge cheeky grin and was a funny guy. Neither of us could understand how it had been going on under our noses. The thought of it made me feel physically sick.’

Mrs Cooper said she could never forgive Brown for taking her ‘baby’s innocence’, adding:

‘I wanted to protect my daughter and I felt like I had failed as a mother. He groomed her into thinking she was in love with him and in my mind he will always be the twisted paedophile who took away my baby’s innocence. I can never forgive him for that.’

DailyMailUK reports that the Cooper family have now moved out of the property in Nuneaton and are trying to re-build their lives while Brown, who was jailed last month, begins his three-year prison sentence.
