Mario Balotelli really does get into the strangest of online social media controversies.
Earlier on Monday, Balotelli removed a post on Instagram that appeared to poke fun at former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez.
On Monday evening, Balotelli posted a picture of the Super Mario character with a “Don’t be racist” message that has been interpreted by some as being racist anti-semitic.
The Instagram post that was deleted can be seen above.

The Liverpool striker’s foster mother, Silvia, is Jewish and it was she that brought the Italian up from a young age.
