A man who served time in prison for raping a chicken, was arrested on charges of animal cruelty after allegedly raping and killing a bird at a public park, police in Indiana said.
42-year-old Michael C. Bessigano was arrested on Friday at his home in Lake County.
He was charged with bestiality and animal cruelty. According to the police investigation, Bessigano s3xually abused and killed a guineafowl in a park in Lowell.
Bessigano served more than four years in prison after being convicted of animal cruelty for having s3x with a chicken and killing it.
He was not charged with bestiality in that case because there was no law against it at the time. That case prompted lawmakers to pass a law, making s3x with animals a crime.
