Italy’s San Siro stadium will host the 2016 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA has confirmed.
The Italian five star has received the honours to stage the competitions final after an eleven years long wait, hosting its last in 2001 when Bayern Munich bagged the trophy.

The Federations second tier competition, Europa League will on its part head to Switzerland after the UEFA executive committee selected Basel’s St. Jakob-Park to stage the competitions finals in 2016.
The pitch, shared by both Italians rivals clubs' AC Milan and Inter Milan, is also known as the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in honour of the Italian legend of the 1920s-40s.
