Lions attack a full grown Buffalo only as a herd but in this case, the Lion has been cast away from his herd was really starving. Desperate situation calls for desperate actions.
The two beasts fought for more than one hour then they stopped and kept staring at each other for close to 5 minutes, all bloodied up and exhausted before going back to the fight.
The fight was broken up by other buffaloes when the Lion seem to be winning.
After this the lion managed to drag himself under a bush to lick his wounds. Both animals were covered in blood by the end.
Two days later the lion succumbed to his injuries, while the buffalo’s carcass was found two weeks later having failed to fight off infection.
